Training Leaders to Serve
For nearly 100 years, The Salvation Army has operated
training facilities in the western United States to train and equip
people who have been called to serve God through the ministries of
The Salvation Army.
In 1975, training facilities were moved from San Francisco to the
present location in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. In the course
of improving and developing its programs, The Army sought and received
accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
(WASC) in 1990 to confer on eligible graduates an Associate of Arts
Degree in Ministry.
A Vision of Lifelong Effectiveness
The Salvation Army recognizes that its officers, members, employees
and others who carry out its ministries are faced with increasing
challenges.
Crestmont helps Salvation Army leaders who deliver and support
front-line services meet those challenges. Through expanded and innovative
training and educational options, Crestmont equips Salvation Army
leaders for success in a fast-changing world.
The supreme goal is to develop officers of such “Blood and
Fire” spirit that they will be enabled to sustain and advance
the purpose of The Salvation Army. The College aims to form men and
women who know God, know themselves and know their mission.
